The 4-Day workshop provide a solid basis for the understanding of the growth of animal cells. The 4-Day Cell Culture Workshop differs from the 3-Day Cell Culture Workshop as it consists of more lecture and laboratory exercises aimed at giving the student a deeper understanding of serum-free media applications and related topics.

Topics included in both workshops: Introduction to cell and tissue culture, serum containing media and the use of serum. cell counting and viability determination, development of growth curves, growth of adherent and suspension cells, transfection technologies for recombinant protein expression in animal cells, cryopreservation and cryothawing of animal cells, cell cloning and primary cell culture.

The 4-Day Cell Culture Workshop also contains sections on growth of cells in serum-free media, attachment, adaptation/selection for growth of adherent cells in suspension culture, the cell cycle and apoptosis as they relate to cells grown in culture.

The BioSciConcepts cell culture workshops are designed to provide a solid understanding of cell culture through classroom presentation and laboratory work. Clients will gain significant experience in the manipulation of animal cells through culture. Through integrated learning methods, utilizing hands-on training to reinforce lecture material students will learn the biological basis and relevance of the process of culturing cells. This will allow students to translate the techniques into applications in their own laboratories. At the end of the workshop we will conduct a full workshop review, and data troubleshooting session. This workshop provide prerequisite training for the culture of numerous cell types including stem cells.
